Hi everyone! I am a sophomore student at Cornell University majoring in fashion management and product development. Cornell’s fiber science and design program has been a great place for me to hone my design and business skills and to further encourage my creative spirit. However, I’m very excited to kick off my fashion media and blogging career as a Style Guru intern here at CollegeFashionista!
I’ve always had a keen interest in design, whether it be basic studio art design, fashion design, interior and landscape design, making jewelry… you name it, I love it all! However, since the beginning of senior year of high school, I have also been interested in fashion business and sustainability. My hope is to one day become an entrepreneurial fashion designer with a sustainable and ecologically-friendly, ready-to-wear line, as well as to create beautiful runway haute couture. More importantly, I’d one day like to be successful enough to give back to the greater community, such as creating a non-profit charity that incorporates sustainable design methods whenever possible.
I believe that style is the tangible expression of one’s personality and that the clothing choices we make are infinite and without limits. People can put on an article of clothing or even a statement piece of jewelry to instantaneously display their mood, creative style, and overall personality.
I have always had a rather eclectic sense of style, which I believe is definitely representative of who I am as a person: ever-changing and creatively intrigued. Choosing my daily outfits mainly depends on my mood, my interests in current fads, and my own personal tastes.
For today’s rainy-day look I decided to wear my cropped light-weight rain jacket, my faded skinny jeans, my wide-framed glasses with a reddish tint, my black knee-high suede boots (which are drenched in leather protectant), and my red Kate Spade purse to add a pop of color.
