Hey everyone! My name is Kayla and I am going to be a sophomore at Marist College in the fall. I had a fantastic first year at Marist and I cannot wait to get back on campus to see my friends, the lovely view and to learn more about what we all love, fashion!
Being a fashion design major at Marist has definitely influenced my outfit choices throughout the past school year. Most people on campus, whether or not they are in the fashion department, dress very well. In order to stand out from the sea of well-dressed people, I quickly found that I needed to take more fashion related risks. As a result, when I am shopping I now pick up pieces that I would not normally feel comfortable wearing and try them on. More often than not, I find myself loving the clothes. Fashion is ultimately all about expressing your inner self so I wear the pieces that I feel most reflect who I am as a person.
I love to shop, as I’m sure most of you do too. Whether it is online or in stores, there is nothing I can count on more to make me happy. Since I started taking design classes at school, I have found that I pay much more attention to how well clothing is made before I purchase anything. Many garments out there are made very poorly, therefore I try to steer away from them and pick the ones that are made well and will ultimately last longer!
Throughout my freshman year, I had the wonderful opportunity to be a Style Guru and I am so excited to be back sharing some fashion advice with you guys. I hope you all have a wonderful and of course, stylish summer break!
