My name is Kayleigh and I’m a 20-year-old freshman at Bakersfield College. I’m very excited to be working with CollegeFashionista this summer since my heart is dedicated to fashion and photography. I believe expressing yourself is one of the most vital things one could do for their imagination and creativity. Whether it’s through art, music or fashion (my personal favorite). These outlets provide a platform to showcase our true colors and makes us feel like we belong.
Growing up, I always considered myself a creative person. Sadly, my household was very troublesome and controlling so, creativity was looked down upon. I was always having to hide my true passions from certain family members or I would receive harsh punishment and extreme criticism. I began to become suppressed from everyone and it was impossible to open up to people and show who I really am. Now that I am older and finally in a safe and happy place in my life, I find myself becoming very open. I’m not afraid to speak about my past, nor do I let it define me or hinder my full potential for accomplishing my dreams.
All the adversity and challenges I have faced have made me into the strong young woman I am today. I hope to always inspire others as well, and remind them just how capable they are at achieving their dreams. I look forward to an amazing summer working for such a #RAD company!
