Hey y’all! I’m Kayleigh Trickey. Yes that’s right, I said it’s Trickey—you know, like that Run DMC song.
Anyways, I am so honored to be a member the CollegeFashionista team as a Style Guru. I can’t think of a better chance to display my individuality and creativity.
I was born and raised in small town U.S.A., better known as Roxboro, North Carolina. Roxboro definitely isn’t the most popular or the most fashion-forward city in the U.S. but nonetheless it is home and I am thankful to have been raised there. I am currently a senior at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina studying Fashion Merchandising.
Although I am from the country and I speak with a deep Southern accent, I don’t fit into the cliché of a “country girl.” I describe my personal style as edgy and trendy. From my hair to my clothing, I love changing my look. I have never been afraid to break the boundaries when it comes to fashion. I have a natural eye, as well as good taste, when it comes to style, for which I give all credit to my mom. My mom has always had an amazing sense of style and always has the most beautiful shoes. She is my rock and my inspiration.
When I am not getting inspiration from my mom, I use social media sites. Tumblr and Instagram are my go-to sites when I need to get inspired or up to date on the latest trends. A few months ago, I discovered Danielle Bernstein’s blog/Instagram, WeWoreWhat. I love scrolling through to see her marvelous outfits and exciting ideas. Girls on social media, like Danielle, moved my roommate/cousin/best friend and I to launch our own fashion/lifestyle blog called #fabblog.
I know with my whole heart that I belong to fashion and no matter what; I am completely dedicated to the industry! With a positive and confident mindset, I am more than willing to work hard and reach my goals. You can’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon—am I right or am I right?
If you love trendy outfits, winged eyeliner and Louis Vuitton you’ve come to the right place! I am so excited for this learning experience and I hope you guys will stay around and enjoy the journey with me.
