What’s up? I’m Kayleigh Trickey. Yes, I said it’s Trickey like that Run DMC song.
Now that I’ve got that old song in your head, let me tell you about myself. I am 21 years old and I was born and raised in Roxboro, North Carolina. If you are curious about what Roxboro might be like, close your eyes and listen to the song Small Town USA by Justin Moore and there you have it. It may be small and a little boring at times, but Roxboro is home and home is where the heart is.
Entering my last semester at Meredith College, I am so excited to be a returning member of the CollegeFashionista team. It is so hard to believe that I am about to graduate college. These last 4 years have flown by and I have had the time of my life. I will forever be grateful to Meredith College for giving me a higher education, for blessing me with great friends, and for the memories. It’s been a fun run (besides all the parking tickets…sorry, Mom).
After I finish up my last semester at Meredith, I plan to enroll in cosmetology school. My biggest hope is to move to New York and attend Aveda. I have always been into doing hair and makeup but when I graduated high school, my parents suggested that I get a degree first and then tackle cosmetology. I am so thankful they did because I couldn’t imagine my life minus the Meredith College experience. I figure the more educated I am about things I am passionate about, the more successful I’ll be.
I love the concept of CollegeFashionista and everything that it stands for. This internship has given me the freedom to express my personal style and individuality. Like everything else, living in a technology centered generation has pros and cons. In my opinion, the fashion world flourishes through technology with the help of social media. I want to take full advantage of every opportunity I have to get my name out there and gain exposure.
If you love black leather, Louis Vuitton and winged eyeliner, chances are we are going to be great friends. I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity and I can’t wait to share my world with you guys.
