Hello everyone! My name is Kelly Flood and I am from Long Island, New York. I am going into my junior year at SUNY Oneonta and I am studying Fashion Merchandising. This is my first semester as a Style Guru! Fashion has always interested me and I always wanted to create my own blog but never got around to doing so. Being a Style Guru will give me the chance to create blog posts and write about the latest fashion trends. I am excited to see what this semester will bring and what I am going to learn by being a Style Guru.
CollegeFashionista was brought to my attention by my friend Blaine who was a Style Guru at the time. I came across her link in her Instagram biography and was immediately curious about this internship. I asked her questions and she recommended me applying since my major was Fashion Merchandising. I looked into it and thought it would be a great experience for me. Everything about fashion interests me, especially peoples personal style and outfit choice. I have also always wanted to create a blog so now being a Style Guru will give me a taste of having a blog if I ever wanted to create one.
Fashion is a great way to express the way one feels or their personality. I wouldn’t say I have a particular style, but if I had to choose my favorite one would be grunge. I love all kinds of denim, chokers and flannels. Being a lover of the ’90s, I love to incorporate it into my outfits. However, it depends on the day and what kind of style I’m into that day. I normally buy a lot of my clothes from American Eagle Outfitters and Brandy Melville.
In my post, I am wearing a gray graphic band T-shirt and a flannel tied around my waist. It’s not quite summer yet so tying it around my waist made it more of a summery look than if I put it on. I love adding a flannel to my outfits, they’re so cozy and simple yet fashionable! I accessorized with a choker to give my outfit more of a grunge look and wore adidas sneakers to make the look more casual. In addition, I also accessorized with my Ray-Ban sunglasses and a fringe satchel to add a touch of summer.
I’m excited to see where this internship takes me, to check out and be inspired by other Style Gurus’ articles and photos about fashion everywhere!
