Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Kelsey Baska and I am a senior at the University of Kansas. I’m majoring in Journalism with an emphasis in Strategic Communications and a minor in Sociology. This is my sixth STYLE GURU BIO and my third semester as a Social Media intern for CollegeFashionista. I can’t believe this is the beginning of my final year as a Style Guru. It seems like only last semester when I first applied.
I’m really great at procrastinating and it’s like a hobby at this point. So naturally one night during my sophomore year of college, I was scrolling through fashion blogs and avoiding all of my responsibilities (a 10 page paper that was due the next day) when I came across CollegeFashionista and immediately knew it was something I needed to be a part of. Throughout my journey with them, I’ve been able to learn from some pretty inspiring people and grow as a writer and photographer. I’m grateful for this internship because without it I wouldn’t have been able to have all of the amazing opportunities that it has given me.
I love tea and cats. Plants and books make me happy. I really enjoy living in Lawrence, Kansas and it’s easily one of my favorite places because it’s full of love and diversity. I used to think choker necklaces were a little too out of my league and that only Gigi Hadid could pull them off; but recently I’ve been convinced that mere mortals are also worthy of wearing them. I’ve seen every episode of every season of every Real Housewives franchise. Platform sandals give me life and I love a good romper, especially this off-the-shoulder one.
I’m sad that this is my last year as a Style Guru, but I’m also excited for what the future brings me. Wherever I go, I know I’ll be prepared and it’s all thanks to the #RAD CollegeFashionista team (insert praise hands emoji here).
