I am thrilled to be returning for my second semester as a Style Guru as well as beginning my editorial internship with CollegeFashionista! During my first semester, I found a ton of inspiration around the streets of my campus that I ended up incorporating into my wardrobe. Thanks to a couple of my trendy Fashionistas last semester, I now own the perfect pair of ripped jeans and a multitude of socks perfect for the Wisconsin winters. My favorite part of this internship is how it has pushed me to play around even more with my outfits after meeting these fashionable folks. Anyone who sees me on a regular basis knows that my style is full of experimentation. I am that girl you will see sporting an edgy varsity T-shirt and leather jacket one day, and then the next I will be in a feminine midi skirt and heels.
If I am not in class or snapping photos, I am probably surfing the Topshop website for the latest trends or looking at their Kendall + Kylie collection. I am currently coveting everything in Kendall Jenner’s wardrobe because her fashion concept is the perfect combination of classic and effortlessly cool, which I also strive for! I am looking forward to a winter of curling up in my blankets while gulping down gallons of coffee as I indulge in my favorite fashion magazines and scroll through my Instagram feed.
In this look, I found inspiration from another one of my style icons Queen Bee, a.k.a. Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl. Blair’s style is preppy and classic, but still youthful. Her outfits are also easily adaptable from the New York setting to where I live in Wisconsin. The primary piece in my outfit is this ruffled button-down black dress. This is my go-to dress for when I cannot decide what to wear during the chillier months for formal events such as work or going out to dinner. I added color with a pair of burgundy tights similar to the pairs that Blair frequently wore on the steps of the Met. The ensemble is tied together with my personal touch consisting of my favorite black booties, simple cross-body bag and a dainty charm bracelet. I love using accessories to help put my own signature on every outfit that I wear.
Stay tuned for more articles from me as I tackle the second half of my junior year. Cheers to a RAD semester!
