Hello, loves! My name is Kiley Crannis and this will be my second semester with CollegeFashionista. I am so excited to continue on this journey and cannot wait to take you all with me. I am a second year student at THE Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. I am double majoring in both fashion/retail studies and strategic communications. Dance has also been a huge part of my life. I have been dancing since the age of 3 and was on my studio’s dance team for 10 years. I can’t imagine life without dance so I will be receiving my minor in that as well. My goal is to someday live in a city (fingers crossed for New York or Chicago) and buy for a store, run the social media for a fashion brand or do PR for a fashion company. Some of the looks I am absolutely loving right now are sweater dresses paired with over-the-knee boots, and satin slip dresses. Of course, as a college student budget is high on my list of priorities when buying a product, so thrifting and finding the best deals is also a must.
This time last year I was at a different college with no idea what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. It was stressful and I didn’t feel happy with where I was. It wasn’t until I took a fashion class my second semester that I realized working in the fashion industry is something that would not only make me happy, but in the future make going to work feel like fun. I have grown so much as a person over the past year and cannot wait to share that with all of you. Being a Style Guru has not only helped me grow as a person but also professionally. My word of advice if you are trying to get into the fashion industry: be yourself! Fashion is all about being unique and using your clothing to express who you are as a person. After all, “Life is too short to wear boring clothes”.
