Hey Fashionistas/os! My name is Kiley and this will be my second semester as a Style Guru! I am going to be a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in Retailing with a certificate in entrepreneurship. I am excited to spend another semester scouting out the stylish students on campus.
I spent the spring semester studying abroad in Rome, Italy at John Cabot University and have been trying to adjust back to reality ever since. Throughout the semester, I was able to experience a whole new sense of the word style. My idea of fashion was altered every day as I travelled from city to city experiencing each one’s unique style. I found myself putting away my comfy class attire of yoga pants and trying to blend in with the stylish Italian students at the university. Luckily, I had eight other closets to raid when my clothes weren’t cutting it. Living with eight other girls with completely different styles than mine forced me to be more daring with my wardrobe choices and helped me break out of my shell in terms of style.
I have always had a love for all things fashion and it has only grown since. I spent this summer interning at a boutique in Milwaukee and learning the ins and outs of owning a small boutique in the city. I am a firm believer in denim and that all occasions call for a pair of heels. Quality denim should be a staple piece in every girl or guy’s closet. It’s amazing what a good pair of jeans can do and I’ll take any excuse to throw on a pair of heels or wedges and add a little height to my life. There’s just something about heels that make me feel more confident.
When going out for a night on the town, my outfit usually consists of a pair of jeans, a tank and my favorite pair of booties or wedges. As for any outfit, accessorizing is key. I love layering my gold necklaces and I’m always wearing a few bliss bracelets on my wrist.
I’m looking forward to sharing my style and the style of all the trendy students at UW-Madison with all of the Fashionistas/os out there this semester!
