Hey fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Kim Peoples and starting in September I will be a freshman at the University of Oregon! I am currently undecided about my major, but am really interested in Public and Media Relations.
I lived in the middle of nowhere as a kid. It was a Christmas tree farm between Monmouth and Corvallis, Oregon. Every day I got to swing, play “Capture the Flag” in the Christmas trees and climb trees and hay bales to my hearts content. When I was eight, my family and I moved to Bend, Oregon. It was only about three hours away, but it was still far. Moving from farm country to the high desert was a big change for me, but I think it was for the best. Bend is full of lakes, hikes, rivers and dogs! I love all animals and whether they’re wild or domestic, we have no shortage of them here.
I have always been a dress-up enthusiast. Whether it was a wedding in my playroom or a night out with friends, I’m always down for some bling and a pair of heels. I have always loved fashion and makeup, but also have a passion for baking and performing.
My favorite musical is “Next to Normal,” I have never been on a plane and I love Harry Potter. My addiction to shopping is something that can’t be helped. I have a cat named Jack who is absolutely amazing; he can play fetch, he loves parmesan cheese and he weighs about 20 pounds! I have naturally red hair and I am the only one in my family of six with red hair. I have a slight obsession with Christmas and my favorite smells are cloves, my mom’s homemade spaghetti sauce and Christmas trees. My style must-haves are skinny jeans, winged liner, ankle boots and cozy sweaters.
One of my favorite looks is a collar popped out of a sweater. Adding an embellished collar like this one makes a plain jumper feel a little nicer. This H&M sweater is one of my favorites because it provides just enough warmth for fall weather, but it’s slightly sheer so you can see your figure underneath. These Old Navy jeans are some of my favorite because they are made specifically for curvier people, so they actually fit my legs and my hips without cutting off circulation. Another favorite part of this outfit, for me, is the bold lip. This Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107 is a great shade for just about everyone. It’s matte so it has good staying power and it’s the perfect fall/winter color.
I can’t wait to share looks and advice from around the University of Oregon campus with everyone this year! Let’s make this year amazing.
