Hey there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Kirby Kelly, and I am a second-year English and New Media and Communication Technology dual major at The Ohio State University. I am so excited to make my foray into fashion blogging this semester with CollegeFashionista!
Fashion has always been an important form of self-expression for me. As a child, I was interested in the creative process, filling notebooks with colorful Crayola marker dresses and cutting and coloring my Barbie dolls’ hair. Now, I am primarily interested in both the social media and editorial aspects of the industry, and hope to someday work as a digital editor for a publication like NYLON magazine.
My style errs on the minimalistic side. I believe that dressing should be a simple and easy process. My motto is less is more. You can find my closet filled with monochromatic pieces and quality basics, primarily in shades of black, white and gray. I like to experiment by contrasting structured and shapeless pieces, playing with proportions and incorporating edgy details like ripped knee jeans and not so basic ankle boots.
I love to live a healthy, active life filled with adventures. When I’m not writing for CollegeFashionista or online shopping, you can find me in a spin class, channeling my inner yogi, eating vegan food, DJing for OSU’s amateur college radio station or exploring the vibrant city of Columbus. I’m beyond thrilled to have this opportunity with CollegeFashionista and look forward to sharing Ohio State’s unique street style with you every Friday this semester!
