Hey there! I’m Kristen, a Afro-Latina who calls Chicago and Orlando home. Currently I reside in Chicago pursing a bachelor’s degree at Roosevelt University for intergrated marketing communications with a concentration in public relations and a minor in fine arts. Try saying that five times!
Generally I would say I am a city girl at heart but my time in Florida has definitely put an influence into my personal style. I go for fashion pieces that are timeless, simple yet chic and versatile. This past summer traveling from the Windy City to the Sunshine State, I have gravitated towards summery outfits that can be worn in the city such as this white wide leg jumpsuit from Charlotte Russe paired with these white studded heeled sandals from Sam Edelman. I love how simple and chic this white jumpsuit is, so I tried to keep accessories to a minimal. To finished the look with I added these delicate hexagon bracelets and gold round ear jackets.
As you can see from my diverse background, I should mention my first love for interior design. When I was younger living in Chicago, my dad used to work at a modern furniture store in the trendy neighborhood of Wicker Park. I learned how to translate my love for fashion to interior design from color schemes and geometric patterns.
I’m extremely excited to be part of a fashion community that values personal style, having fun and networking with other fashionable Style Gurus. I can’t wait to see what this semester brings me!
