Hi Fashionistas/os! My name is Kristen Rutherford and I’m a senior at Salisbury University in Maryland. I am majoring in communications media studies and minoring in English. I am so excited to be a part of the Style Guru team!
I am a massive One Direction fan and before you ask, yes I am devastated by their current hiatus. Pancakes are my favorite food, I am crazy for anything Disney, and I can’t live without my Hamsa bracelet.
I studied abroad in London last year and it was the best semester of my life. While there, I got to visit Ireland, Scotland and France. I even went to Disneyland Paris; Like I said I’m crazy about anything Disney. If you ever have the chance to go abroad, you must go. You’ll have the experience of a lifetime!
I’ve always had a passion for fashion and my family has definitely encouraged me to pursue it. I was given sketchbooks at a young age to start getting my style ideas down on paper. I draw my own style inspiration from people in my life and from the ‘90s. I love wearing button-downs like the military one in this outfit; You always need a good pair of jeans, and heeled boots are a must-have. My favorite stores are Forever 21, Nordstrom, and H&M. I’m also always up for a trip to the thrift shop; If you look hard enough, you can always find something great. The one rule I have for my style is to always be myself no matter what.
