Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Kristina Rosen, and I’m a freshman at the University of Kentucky studying Merchandising, Apparel and Textiles. I’ve lived in Lexington, Kentucky for five years and decided to continue my education in this awesome city because of how much I love the community. One of the many great aspects of this city is that it’s a melting pot of people with unique styles and tastes.
I’ve always had an interest in fashion and design, but after spending a week in New York City this past summer participating in a fashion program, I realized the fashion industry is where I belong. Although New York City is best known for being a fashion capital, I’m lucky to live in a place where fashion is just as vital and notable.
My style can be described as casual-chic. I love wearing simple, neutral colored pieces because they enable me to pull off different looks depending on the image I’m going for or the mood I’m in. For instance, I can easily spice up the outfit seen above by switching the cardigan for a bold blazer or changing into sneakers to opt for a sportier look. I don’t accessorize often, but rings are my go-to jewelry. Pictured above are a few of my favorites: a wire ring I made myself, a silver hand ring that opens up to a heart, a couple colorful stone rings and a silver flower ring.
We express ourselves and our personality through what we wear and how we carry ourselves. That’s why, to me, style is all about being comfortable and confident with who you are. I’m excited to showcase and highlight the different styles and trends I see around the University of Kentucky’s campus and throughout the wonderful city of Lexington.
Here’s to my first semester as a Style Guru!
