Hello there, fellow fashion enthusiasts! My name is Kristopher McKeever, and I’m a student at Virginia Commonwealth University double majoring in broadcast journalism and fashion merchandising.
I was born and raised in Atlanta, so I’ve seen my fair share of outlandish fashion statements. I grew up my whole life binge watching Project Runway and flipping through the pages of countless issues of Vogue, GQ and NYLON. I spent and continue to spend a lot of my free time studying fashion runway shows and use it to inspire my own personal aesthetic.
What I love more than anything is not just fashion, but what fashion can do for other people. I’ve always wanted to work in the fashion industry, and being able to participate as one of the Style Gurus for CollegeFashionista is a dream come true.
I think that fashion is art. It pushes boundaries and blurs the lines between the masculine and the feminine. It is a dream of mine to create more high fashion unisex clothing to appeal to people that are gender non-conforming, or just those that are tired of having to fit the mold of gender-specific clothing.
I believe that fashion is something that should be for everyone. I am a firm believer in the way someone presents something can completely change the way it looks to others. It doesn’t matter if your jeans are designer or if they’re from your local thrift store, it takes a fashionable eye to be able to make yourself look good.
My dream in life is to do anything fashion related. It doesn’t matter if I’m a magazine editor, fashion photo journalist or if i’m backstage at a runway show, I will be happy to do it. Fashion is my life and anything that I can do to get closer to my passion is more than I could even dream of.
I’m so excited to share with the world the style and trends that the college campus of VCU has to offer this summer. Fashion in Richmond seems to change every day, so check back every month to see my posts and get ready for an awesome summer!
