Hi all! My name is Kylie Terrana and I am a senior at Washington State University. I have finally made it to the end in my college career and I will be receiving my degree in strategic communication with a focus in public relations and a minor in marketing. I bounced around majors and minors a bit, adding apparel merchandising only to change my mind. My interest and gravitational pull to fashion, style, and trend still stands, but I have found I want my career to hopefully be on the promotional side of apparel versus conceptualizing and production.
A large part of my four years in college has been working for Nordstrom. Although I worked in the shoe department, I still was able to experience the amazing style of all of the people around me. I applaud every single person who works for this company with their dedication and creativity in their style. Having the chance to see the way these people managed to have different styles, while maintaining the same standard of class, trend, professionalism, and authenticity helped me shape the ways I carry and dress myself.
My personal style differs day to day, as well as, location to location. Living in Pullman, Washington for school has forced me to be practical (because of how cold it gets) and simple, which is not all that bad. I have found a special place in my heart for simple staples like oversized sweaters and comfortable denim. However, when I go home to Seattle, I really get my chance to wear what I want. I find my style bounces from a “Pacific Northwest” flannel and ripped denim, to flowy, loose and gentle boho, to a sort of sporty-chic. I am obsessed with white tennis shoes even though I can’t keep them super clean. Gives me a reason to buy new shoes though.
For this look I paired a classic black leather jacket with a simple oversized Adidas T-shirt. I chose black ripped jeans that are my favorite pair of pants and wedges to make it slightly dressed up. This is my way to keep it sporty, but still dressy enough to wear at Nordstrom for work! This outfit can be dressed down with a tennis shoe or can be taken to the bar with a heel or a wedge.
