Hey ya’ll! My name is Laura Jazmin Tolliver, but everyone calls me Jaz. I am so excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team. I jumped up and down (literally!) when I found out that I was chosen to be a Style Guru this year.
I am a senior majoring in English at Florida Atlantic University. I am a South Florida native, although most people think I’m from Georgia because of my slight accent (It comes from my lovely grandma who is actually from Georgia). I was born in Miami and raised in Delray Beach. I tend to be a shy person but I’ve always loved fashion, window-shopping and dreaming up outfits that I’d like to wear.
Growing up, I attended a school that had a strict dress code; so attending college has given me the opportunity to explore many different styles. I love walking across campus and being inspired by the details of someone’s outfit. I am all about the details! I get really excited about seeing a certain part of an outfit that takes it to the next level, such as statement jewelry, a gorgeous handbag or a pair of shades that pulls the whole outfit together.
If I could categorize my style, I would say that my style is a mixture of all things feminine/girly, corporate-chic and everything black. The three things that I never leave the house without are red lipstick, a hair tie (it its incredibly humid here in Florida) and an adorable pair of earrings. I love all things elegant and classy that make me feel like Audrey Hepburn when I walk out the door. I absolutely adore any kind of little black dress, thousands of shades of lipsticks and combat boots.
For this look, I wanted to wear something bright and fun because I sure will miss the summer season! I paired this super girly fit and flare dress with a gold watch and matching gold earrings. I immediately fell head over heels with this breathtaking neon orange and I found the gold neckline to be enchanting in combination with the gold accessories.
I’m super excited for this fall season! I’m looking forward to a show-stopping semester and bringing the hottest fashions to each of you.
