Hola Fashionistas! I am super excited to be a Style Guru for the College Fashionista team for the very first time!
Let me start by sharing a little bit about me. My name is Laura and I’m a third-year Telecommunications major at the University of Florida (GO GATORS!) I’m also pursuing two minors, one in Innovation and another in Theater.
For me first impressions are always important and fashion is the best way to express and present yourself. Like the fabulous Coco Chanel once said, “Everyday is a fashion show and the world is your runway.”
Being born in Colombia has given my taste in fashion a little nature/ bohemian kick! I love to accessorize my outfits with jewelry made from nature; seeds, trees and wood are all very common materials used by the native people that make it. My style is like a mixed melting pot. Girly, laid back, edgy, beachy, sexy, classy and casual are amongst the words that I use to describe my style. Getting dressed in the morning is always fun (a tad bit troublesome too!) because I like to put together outfits based on my mood at the moment.
Although I love to accessorize and mix different styles, simplicity is a must for me!
Today I am wearing a simple white Portofino blouse paired with skinny light-washed ripped jeans. To add some edge, I am wearing snakeskin printed flats from Lucky Brand. I added a gold watch and a brown, leather bracelet as the cherry on top. I love that this outfit is so simple yet so chic!
I cannot wait to start this journey where I’ll be able to share with you all the different styles and latest trends on campus!
