Hey guys! My name is Lauren, and I’m super excited that I get to start my internship with CollegeFashionista this semester! Currently I am a senior at Florida State University working towards my bachelor’s in Humanities. Before moving to Tallahassee, I attended The King’s College in Manhattan where I studied Media, Culture and the Arts.
Moving to New York after living in Florida for eighteen years was a bit of a culture shock. But when you’re dropped off in Midtown Manhattan at eighteen years-old, you hit the ground running (not like you actually have a choice because the locals will actually run you over). It was a great experience, and I plan to move back as soon as I graduate.
My style has evolved over the years and now mostly consists of black. Hey, it’s slimming and goes with everything. It also transitions well from day to night, what more could you want?
With this look I decided to keep things classic—a black and white striped bodysuit with a faux leather skater skirt, my newly beloved Marc by Marc Jacobs Baker watch, a wool panama hat (I know it’s spring and as soon as I find the perfect straw hat, I’ll swap them out, I promise), some not-so-basic black flats, my mini Chanel quilted purse and a solid red lip courtesy of NARS.
You will probably never see me without a hat. I feel like it adds an extra element of cool to any outfit I put together. I own the one you see in two colors, black and gray, and would own more if only H&M would kindly supply more color options (I was thinking burgundy or a pale pink perhaps?). I can dream.
Anyway, can’t wait to catch all you rad folk on campus!
