Hey there fashionable friends! My name is Lauren Wise and I am so excited to be a returning Style Guru this semester. I am a sophomore at The Ohio State University majoring in marketing with a fashion retail studies minor.
I’m a big lover of fashion magazines, mommy bloggers (hey they’re awesome, I swear), anything Free People and shoes. My style tends to stick to neutral colors, but I will add pops of red for my Buckeyes. My friends swear my closet is all-black, but I promise I’m trying to branch out.
Last semester was a whirlwind for me—from publishing my first articles on CollegeFashionista, to joining a sorority and landing an internship at Abercrombie & Fitch, my life was pretty hectic. I found myself in a style rut that left me grabbing for sweatpants more often than my beloved skinny jeans. But, it’s a new semester and a fresh start for my fashion. However, some things never change—I’m still obsessed with black and white and the minimalism trend this winter. But, like I said, I’m working on that.
Lately, I’ve been trying to play around with different textures to mix up my look. Here I’m wearing a basic T-shirt and leather leggings. I paired this with a fuzzy and very cozy sweater from Anthropologie. I completed my look with a jeweled bracelet, fun fact I wore this to my senior prom, and my favorite studded flats.
Enough about me! I’m excited to continue to showcase the awesome fashion Columbus has to offer. The Ohio State University’s large and diverse student body combined with Columbus’ fashion hub makes for some stellar style. Plus, while the weather may not show it, spring is around the corner and I’m eager to see how my classmates interpret spring trends. Pajamas and slips were popular on the runway and I’m looking forward to seeing how these trends transform to street wear. If you’re ready for next season’s trends like I am, Harper’s Bazaar has you covered.
Cheers to another fashionable semester!
