Hello Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I am so excited to be back and writing for CollegeFashionista for a fourth semester. While I am usually at the George Washington University studying Sociology and Journalism, this semester, things are a little different. Instead of bringing you the latest trends and style from the streets of our nation’s capital of Washington D.C., this time around I will be exposing you to some style from another capital city: London, England!
Personally, my style has been influenced by some of my favorite British celebrities. From Cara Delevingne and Alexa Chung, to Charli XCX and Emma Watson, each of my own British fashion icons has a unique sense of style and brings something different to the table. I get some sporty inspiration from Cara, some girly inspiration from Alexa, a little bit of eccentric inspiration from Charli, and classy inspiration from Emma. Some of my favorite staple pieces in my wardrobe like graphic sweatshirts, Chelsea boots and ripped jeans are inspired directly from these British celebrities.
Besides its incredibly stylish celebrities, London, England proves that it is becoming a prominent fashion capital of Europe. Although it is no Paris or Milan, London has gained the right to be seen as one of the most fashionable and posh cities in the world. Whether you are strolling down Oxford Street, hitting up stores like Miss Selfridge and Topshop or getting lost through the many twists and turns of Harrods, it is impossible to pass someone who does not look like they just jumped out of the pages of Vogue.
I hope you are ready for a British-filled semester, Fashionistas/os. I can’t wait to show you all some street style from across the pond!
