Hi my loves! I’m Leona Juan, and I’m a sophomore at Rutgers University. When I’m not in class, I can usually be found shopping, binge watching Netflix or ordering coffee. I’m from a small town in New Jersey, but I hope to end up in the bustling streets of New York City, or eating croissants in Paris as a fashion stylist.
Fashion has always been my thing. Of course when I was younger, I had all the careers I wanted to pursue: doctor, princess and president. I didn’t realize it then, but everything I did always lead to my love for fashion. Whether it be dressing up my Barbies in clothes that were mixed and matched or having my own little fashion shows in my room, everything I loved to do always had to do with fashion. In high school, everyone knew me as the girl that lived for fashion. I took any fashion classes offered, and I even won best dressed! When I first got accepted in a college for fashion, it was a dream come true. The school was in the streets of New York City, and I felt right at home. Fast forward to now, and I’m no longer in fashion school or the Big Apple. My heart is still in the fast paced city, looking for anything and everything fashionable. Though at Rutgers, I still plan on pursuing a career in the fashion industry. Meeting so many new connections and seeing so much inspiration in the huge community at Rutgers, I hope to carry that on while I pursue fashion.
I wouldn’t label myself with a specific style. One day, I could be wearing a bright pink dress and sandals, while the next, I’ll be wearing all black and a pair of sneakers. I love things that are comfortable, yet still chic. Staples in my closet are T-shirt dresses, chunky heels and oversized jackets. I love being able to layer and be comfortable, especially since the weather is going to be cold pretty soon. My lace-up T-shirt is a DIY that I did, perfect for the college girl on a budget. My platform oxfords are comfortable, and the platform adds some height to us short girls! I love how chokers are a little subtle accessory that can add a little something to an outfit. I always have to finish off every look I do with a makeup look that ties everything together.
Wishing everyone a fun and fashionable fall semester!
