Hey guys! My name is Liv Schreiber. I’m a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin- Madison, and I am from New Jersey. As far as fun facts go, I’m a twin, certfied scuba diver and zumba instructor, and lived in Barcelona this past summer. I have a passion for all things fashion, and you’ll never find me standing still. I’m constantly moving, learning, and asking questions. I can never know enough about a topic and believe that every day presents a world of opportunity; it’s just up to us to grab it.
My desire to be involved with CollegeFashionista stems from more than just an opportunity for skill strengthening and career preparation. I have been intrigued by the fashion ever since I was young (my first designed handbag made its debut in a national catalog when I was 11). But most recently, I combined my love for journalism and fashion by completing coursework to obtain a Certificate in Fashion Industry Essentials from Parsons School of Design. This course inspired me to start my own company, which sells game day related women’s wear.
I am confident that I will pursue a career in journalism and fashion, but I know that, although I have experience within the fashion industry, I still have quite a lot to learn about the intellectual side of journalism. Whether it be writing promotional “blurbs” for my own clothing company or contributing articles on street style for CollegeFashionista, my love for communications within the fashion industry is evident in everything I do.
My style is constantly evolving and typically sets the mood I’ll be in for the rest of the day. It’s crazy how style can do that, just like music. Have you ever listened to a motivational song and seen the world in a different perspective afterward? For me, this occurs every time I go out in my bohemian washed tote, or gold-heeled booties. Fashion is more than appearance; it stimulates ideas, feelings, and energies.
I hope I can inspire you the same way that fashion inspires me.
