Hello fellow Fashionistas! My name is Liz Gomez, and this is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I am a junior at Illinois State University, majoring in communications. I am so excited to be a Style Guru this semester seeing as fashion and writing have always been important to me.
There is nothing better than taking articles of clothing and pairing them together to create your own style. My love of fashion began years ago after watching countless episodes of the TLC classic, What Not To Wear. One of the best ways to get new style ideas is from others, which is exactly what I’ll be doing this semester. Living on a college campus, there are always trendy people on the move. When walking to class, you can most likely hear me say, “That’s cute,” about others’ outfits. Then I usually think about how I can incorporate their looks into my own style.
I’m known for wearing two of my most favorite colors: olive green and burgundy. Two classic colors, especially in the midst of the chilly winter months in central Illinois. My favorite brands include TOBI, Ralph Lauren and, of course, Urban Outfitters. I own an excessive amount of tops: from sweaters to T-shirts and everything in-between. Riding boots are a classic staple to an outfit; I like black boots because they match everything. One of my favorite colors to incorporate into an everyday outfit is a piece of gold jewelry. It’s versatile; you can throw on a gold watch for class or a night out. Gold stands out and looks great on everyone. A few words that best describe my style are: simple, chic and functional.
I am looking forward to a fabulous semester as a Style Guru!
