Hi Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I’m so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista for my fourth semester. This summer, I’m interning at an advertising agency close to home. I’ll be working with fashion clients and assisting on photo shoots, so I’m looking forward to it. Moving home to the suburbs is a change of pace from the buzzing city life in D.C., but it will be good to have some peace and quiet for a change.
Summer is one of my favorite seasons because I can finally pull out all of my mini dresses, shorts and tank tops. This summer, I’ll probably still be wearing a lot of black. I recently bought a black maxi skirt and a flowy black mini dress that I’m excited to put to use. I’m also really into crisp summer whites. My white jeans can finally come out from hiding.
I loved the vivid colors in this dress when I spotted it in the store. I generally shy away from bold colors and prints, but I’ve always appreciated a pretty floral for spring and summer. The bright color pops against a black background. This dress will be perfect for work since I’m in a creative environment. Â I’m also planning on wearing it to a wedding this summer with nude sandals.
I chose simple accessories to pair with this dress because of its bold print. My favorite cross body bag holds all of the essentials and a delicate pendant adds a personal touch. The necklace was a Christmas gift and I wear it every day. Otherwise, I don’t usually wear a lot of jewelry. My wedges are neutral and add some much needed height. The wedge heel is pretty comfy even though it’s high. Wedges are my go-to in the summer.
