Hello, heIlo Fashionistas! My name is Lucy Lopez and I am third year about to be a fourth year (wait, what?!) at the University of California, San Diego. I am majoring in communications and minoring in business hoping to one day work in public relations and social media marketing for the fashion industry. I am beyond excited to be a Style Guru for my campus and show how college students stay trendy during the hot summer days.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles and plan on living here for the rest of my life. However, I do love traveling and documenting my experiences through blog posts, films, and even collecting flowers from each city/state/country that I had the opportunity of visiting. Just last fall I studied abroad in London, United Kingdom and was in awe by Londoner’s streetwear. I was obsessed with their darker tones, layering, and the casualness but sophisticated aspect of their outfits. Their streetwear had inspired my style to become a lot more edgier, but still remaining feminine chic. I get more of my outfit inspiration from celebrities and blogger influencers like Gigi Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Eleanor Calder and Jillian Wallace. Their outfits express their creativity and femininity, which is something I strive to do when choosing my outfit of the day.
I am a lover of all things creative and show this through my writing, photography and most importantly- my style! I love to experiment with my clothing pieces and I have shown this through this particular look. Since I live in Southern California where the weather can be hotter on most days, I always make sure to wear pieces that are lightweight material as I am wearing here: my vintage For Love and Lemons Montana maxi dress. I wanted to make the look casual as I was heading to brunch, so I left a couple of the white pearl buttons undone from the maxi dress and wore my Topshop Joni ripped black jeans. For shoes, I wore my favorite thrifted black booties to elongate my legs.
I am looking forward to posting fun and casual outfits that college students can get inspiration from and recreate! Fashion has given me the opportunity to show my creative side and I want others to be able to do so as well.
