It’s here! It is officially time for another semester on the Wildcat campus. Not only that, but it is time for my last and final semester as a undergraduate college student (which is equally exciting as it is terrifying). As I reflect back on my hectic summer and look forward to the semester ahead I cannot wait to continue into my second semester as a Style Guru. From ‘Caturday’ football tailgates, to girl’s night out, to job interviews, Wildcat style is thriving all throughout Lexington and I’m eager to continue to share it with all of the CollegeFashionista readers.
With the conclusion of the summer so comes the conclusion of my summer internship in Minor League Baseball. While it was an incredible experience that I was more than honored to have, I can’t say I’m not squealing a little bit inside knowing that I get to trade in my office clothes and game day khakis for something a little more girly and relaxed. For me, back to school means mixing my creative style with the practical implications of my day to day life as a college student. As a senior communications major at the University of Kentucky, I find myself with a full class schedule, a gig as a teaching assistant, a leadership role in a health & fitness campus organization, two internships and a part-time job. (Did I mention I like to stay busy?) Nevertheless, my smorgasbord of daily duties put me in quite the position to be constantly changing up my look. While that may seem like a pestering task to some, I love using it as an excuse to be constantly exploring new styles and looks.
On the most common of days when my time is spent sitting in class, studying or running errands, I keep my style fairly simple and casual. For this look I paired together some distressed denim shorts (crucial for the sweltering Lexington heat) and a jade colored top from H&M. Accessories were kept minimal with a bronze chained necklace and short tan wedged sandals.
Here’s to the final lap, may it be filled adventure, surprise, and of course, style.
