Hello there loves! I am Mackenzie Schoenherr, and this will be my second year at Ohio University. I’m majoring in journalism, with a minor in fashion. I was born in California, but am a proud Clevelander now. I’m so excited to be back writing for CollegeFashionista.
Ever since I was little, I have had a love of dresses and heels. Even when I was going to preschool, I would constantly try to be as dressy as possible. As I have grown up a few inches and a few years, my love of all things dressy has not changed at all.
For my day-to-day looks, I tend to wear either fit and flare dresses, like this A-line from Franchesca’s, or maxi skirts with a cute tank top or crop top paired. For night occasions, I like to step up the game with a cute, form-fitting maxi dress. The one I am wearing is from Express, which has become my go-to for any and all articles of clothing. The dress itself is made of a super soft material, and is so breathable, making it perfect for those summer to fall transition months. The color itself is stunning and makes my eyes pop.
For my style, I am always drawn to colors that compliment me. I love wearing black; if there were a darker color, I would probably wear that. But every now and then, I like throwing in a pop of color. It makes my whole disposition change.
When I wear shoes, my mantra is go big or go home. The taller the heels, the higher my confidence goes. The shoes I am wearing are my number one heels for dressing up an outfit. The bright colors draw the eye, but don’t take away from the actual outfit, but instead add to it. Shoes such as these would add the perfect pizazz to an outfit without going overboard.
Another staple of mine is my makeup. I don’t go overboard, on my eyes; it is just mascara. There are a few things I never leave without though, which are my eyebrows and my highlighter. For my brows, I use MAC Big Brow Pencil in Cork, and my highlighter is a mix. For the base I use Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Shy Beam Matte highlighter, and for an extra shimmer I use Guerlain Météorites Illuminating Powder Pearls. They add just the perfect amount of pop without overdoing my natural look. Overall, my look is very girly and ultra chic. I love all things glitz and glitter.
