Hello everyone! My name is Madeline Farina and this is my sixth(!) semester as a Style Guru. This year I will be a senior at Kent State University and finishing off my degree in fashion merchandising.
I am so excited to get back on campus after being away for a year. Last fall, I lived in Italy and had the incredible opportunity to travel around Europe while I was there. It was such an amazing experience and if anyone is on the fence about studying abroad, do it. You won’t regret it and I promise that you will have the best time of your life.
For my spring semester, I lived in New York City and took on two internships there. I gained a ton of experience and was able to see the good, the bad and the ugly of the fashion industry, and it made me love it even more. There is no place like New York and being able to live and work there was absolutely life changing.
Living in Europe and New York definitely has had an effect on my personal style. I always loved dressing simply yet chic, but now I’m more willing to take risks. After being surrounded by incredibly dressed people for a year, I’ve definitely added some more color and statement pieces into my wardrobe.
So now I’m back in Kent, Ohio. Even though I’ve been to some pretty awesome cities in the past year, I’ve missed Kent State University dearly. I am so excited to have one more year here to wrap up my college experience and to show you Kent State Univeristy’s street style!
