Ciao bellas! I’m Madeline, the 5-foot-7, semi-blonde creator and mastermind behind The Gilded Guru blog. Though I am about to celebrate the first birthday of my own blog, I am new to CollegeFashionista and am incredibly excited to see where this adventure takes me!
I am a native North Carolinian transplanted to the trendy town of Athens to attend the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!) and I am majoring in fashion merchandising (pending parental approval I also hope to minor in studio art).
Despite my lack of hipster tattoos or dreaded locks, I like to think that I live on the trendier side of life and because of that my fashion sense is always changing. My look is Vogue-inspired and thrift store designed, because I usually have a max of about ten dollars in my pocket at any given moment. When I’m feeling wealthy I shop brands such as NASTY GAL, Forever 21, Nordstrom, Anthropologie and ASOS, and I tend to sift through the glossy pages of magazines and editorials like InStyle, Glamour and ELLE.
I love to hunt for my clothes in shiny new super-malls or old rundown vintage stores because there is always a new piece and a great deal to be found. My friends all know that I am notorious for sporting a full-on Goodwill ensemble… any time, any occasion. Some of my life goals include mastering the art of applying lipstick, finding the perfect mac and cheese recipe and owning a Hermès Birkin bag.
