Greetings to my fellow Fashionista/os! I am so happy to be back for another semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I spent this summer blogging about hot weather trends and I am excited for what this semester will bring.
Here are a few tidbits about me. I am a student at Indiana University with a major in Apparel Merchandising and a minor in Business and Design. I am an officer for IU’s Retail Studies Organization and I am a part of the Philanthropy Committee for my sorority, Chi Omega. This spring, I plan on working on the Kentucky Derby Fashion Show, which I am thrilled about! A good book, shopping, traveling and a cute mug filled with coffee are a few of my favorite things. Fashion has always been a huge part of my life and I plan on keeping it apart of my future.
As far as my personal style goes, I am in love with texture! Whether it’s soft and cottony or fuzzy and furry, I love mixing and matching different feels. Here, I am wearing a Free People plum colored fur vest. I decided to layer it over a thin cream knit tank, also from Free People. Another texture that I am really in love with this season is leather. My Nordstrom leather leggings are my new favorite thing hanging in my closet!
Whoever said “diamonds are a girl’s best friend” didn’t own a pair of Steve Madden shoes. I love sporting these black suede beauties! Not only do they add some height to my 4’11 stature, but they also boost my confidence by at least 20 points. I never leave the house without my gold Michael Kors watch or my Alex and Ani bracelets. Here I have decided to pair my watch and bracelets with a jeweled bangle from Francesca’s. When it comes to accessories, my theory is the more, the merrier!
I can’t wait to report on all the latest trends and styles this semester. It definitely feels great to be behind my keyboard again. I hope you are ready as I am for a semester filled with fashion!
