STYLE GURU BIO: Madison Krause

Hey fashionable babes! I’m back on popular demand like Messy Ma in Beyoncé’s “Formation.” Get ready for another semester of black and vintage clothes. As the wise Carrie Bradshaw once said, “’I like my money where I can see it—hanging in my closet.”

For those who don’t know me, I am currently a sophomore at New York University in the liberal studies program. Everyone calls me “gaptoothginger” and don’t think I get offend because it’s true. I learned I needed to embrace the weirdest parts of myself. People come to New York for two things: labels and love. My one true love is New York and if anyone asks, we are dating. I may be on a college students budget but labels are at every turn in New York. With Soho and Bowery just a few minutes from campus, deals on vintage labels are everywhere. I also have a love for heels. I could not tell you how far I walk in a day but I can assure you it was in heels. They make my legs look long and strong. I basically look like I have Gisele Bündchen legs in heels (If you close one eye then close the other and picture Gisele).

Let discuss the work of art above. No I am not talking about the pictures of me but the mixture of my two loves: black and vintage. I am wearing a bodysuit from Zara that says “work of art.” (If you come to New York you have to go to the new Zara that opened on Broadway, It will change your life). Bodysuits are perfect for the summer because you can throw shorts over them to go out than rip off the shorts and lay by the pool. I am wearing my favorite pair of ripped, vintage boyfriend jeans. They are comfy and high-waisted A.K.A. every hipster’s dream. My shoes are also vintage Balenciaga. The heel ties together the whole outfit by incorporating the colors blue, black and white. Although they are basic colors, adding a little bit of blue gives the look a pop of color.

Let’s take this fashionable journey through the most amazing city in the world together! I promise, you won’t regret it!
