Hello fellow Fashionistas! My name is Maedla Glasser and I am extremely excited to be part of the CollegeFashionista Team. I hope that this internship will give me the confidence and skills that I can use in my future fashion endeavors.
I am going into my fourth year at the University of Toronto where I am presently studying History and European Studies. While I was born and raised in Toronto, I have spent many summers travelling through Europe. This fostered my love for fashion, because of their amazing street-style, which is something I am always trying to emulate. On weekends when I am not out for brunch, I am scouting for new stores to see if they have a new pieces to add to my wardrobe. Some of my favorite stores include Antropologie, Club Monaco and Madewell.
One of my main fashion rules is that it does not matter where you buy your clothes. My motto is to develop your own style and not be trapped in the idea that you need to purchase only designer goods to be stylish. Instead, I believe that by mixing up clothes from a range of different stores and brands you can allow your own personal style to emerge.
I find that my style has evolved and matured over the past four years at university. My style at the moment is all about simplicity, while balancing looking effortlessly stylish and still being comfortable. Usually my summer outfits consist of either high-waisted skirts or jeans paired with light airy blouses. While I like a simple, uncluttered look I try to accentuate with my shoes and accessories. I love colored or patterned ballet flats or loafers and detailed and ornate scarves, which are great to pair with a jean jacket on a chilly summer night. In the summer, I tend not to care large, bulk purses and instead opt for a small backpack. This allows me to care just the bare essentials, while not having my hands full carrying a purse.
I hope you enjoy reading my posts. I cannot wait to find you on campus and learn about your style!
