Hello, my name is Maedla Glasser and I am currently entering my senior year at the University of Toronto. I am so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista for my second semester! While the summer semester has been so much fun and a great educational experience, I am ecstatic to be featuring Fashionista/os’ fall outfits. As a Canadian, I know that summer should be my favorite season, because it is hot and sunny, but fall is my favorite time of year. It is warm enough to still be able to wear jeans and sweaters layered under a light parka without a bulky winter coat and snow boots. The fall season includes some of my favorite things such as the autumn colors, pumpkin spice lattes and blanket scarves.
When it comes to my style, lately I have been sticking mainly to neutrals: white, gray and black. I add a splash of color by wearing accessories that are brightly colored such as shoes or patterned scarves. Some of my style icons include Audrey Hepburn, Blake Lively and Clemence Poesy. All of them effortlessly create outfits, which are simple yet sophisticated.
When I am not studying or writing, I am reading my favorite magazine Marie Claire or other articles on CollegeFashionista. This is where I draw inspirations for my outfits, because it provides new ideas on how to style pieces.
During the school year I try to keep my outfits comfortable yet stylish, because I attend classes, study at the library and hang out with my friends. For a casual look I try to stick to my staples: a black pair of jeans with a silk camisole. For an added layer I wore a stripped blanket scarf to keep me warm. Finally I accessorized with gold earrings, a marble ear cuff and a pair of white sneakers. It is a great outfit to grab brunch with friends on the weekend or head to class.
With my camera and school bag in toe, I cannot wait to find you Fashionista/os and showcase your looks here!
