Hey hey to all Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Maggie Haddad and I am a freshman at the University of Delaware studying Fashion Merchandising. This is my first semester with CollegeFashionista and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of something so #RAD!
I have lived in the same 5-mile radius my entire life, in a small town in Southern Connecticut. Luckily, my small town is a 45-minute train ride from New York City, so I have always taken my style inspiration from the streets of Manhattan, Chelsea specifically. I could probably guide someone through Chelsea walking backwards with my eyes shut, but I would never do that because I wouldn’t want to miss all of the amazing fashion statements walking down every sidewalk. I’ve spent hours sitting on benches on the High Line, watching the trendiest people walk by, taking notes on how I can adapt my wardrobe to their styles.
My style is very sporty yet edgy and trendy. I am totally obsessed with overalls right now; I love how you can dress them to fit so many different styles, and they’re super comfortable. I also love ripped jeans, rompers, jean jackets, trendy backpacks and you can pretty much guarantee that I will be wearing a pair of sneakers. When I shop, I like to mix it up, hitting anything from stores like Target to American Apparel and Urban Outfitters. Like many college students, I’m shopping on a tight budget, so I like to find great pieces that are affordable. My favorite jean jacket is from Target!
