Hey, Fashionistas/os! My name is Maggie Williamson and this is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista. This fall I will begin my senior year studying Public Communication at Taylor University. Although I am currently living in the Midwest I was born and raised below the Mason-Dixon line. Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia is something I am so thankful for. My home was filled with homemade buttermilk biscuits, sweet tea, and of course an abundance of “ya’ll.” Southern culture is a huge part of my heart and I carry a little bit of its unique ambiance with me wherever I go.
As a child I was always fascinated by fashion and art. My favorite part of the school year was receiving a brand new history book, and flipping through page after page of timeless artwork. As I got older, I was still drawn to this kind of imagery. I traded my history books for copies of Vogue and InStyle and poured over the abundance of artistry demonstrated on the pages every season. I developed a love of photography and an appreciation for the power it has in communicating a creative vision.
Personal style is a passion of mine. I am a student of color, trend and the ability to express yourself through clothing. I believe in finding the joy in the ordinary, and in inspiring others to be creative and find the beauty in themselves. I love traveling, new books and capturing moments on film.
Fashion is such a unique way to see new perspectives, and connect with people from all stages of life. I am so excited to be joining the CollegeFashionista team this semester, and can’t wait to share more of my own personal style as well as those who inspire me from around my campus.
