The name is Mallory Champlin and this is my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I grew up in Panama City Beach, Florida, so to say that I’m a beach bum is more than accurate! A lot of my days are spent getting off of work and running toward the beach with my friends in hopes to soak up as many rays as possible. I am a vegetarian, hardcore yogi and film lover. I currently study costume design at the Savannah College of Art and Design and I have been a total theater nerd since birth. I love studying how and why people choose the clothing that they do. Costumes and fashion as a whole have always interested me because it tells a story. One can know so much about a person by the way that they dress. I believe that expressing oneself and telling ones story is so important.
My style is usually pretty shabby-chic. It can range anywhere from street style to a little boho, but I hardly ever stray from my basics. I am never caught in any bright, off-the-wall colors or patterns (mostly because I like to have some freedom with my makeup). I’m always looking for everything to stay cohesive in color scheme or texture. I never leave the house without a full face of makeup as well, and I have been that way since before I can even remember. I believe that I can express myself just as much through makeup art as I can with an outfit.
