Hi everyone! My name is Mara and I’m at freshman at Chapman University, majoring in international business with a double minor in journalism and fashion. This is my first semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru, and I could not be more excited to have the opportunity to share my personal style and trends with all of you!
I was born and raised in the Silicon Valley and have been around fashion ever since I was a little girl. My inspirations for fashion come from my mother, who is a high-end jewelry designer based out of New York City, which happens to be my favorite place. No city has style like New York, and that is where I get most of my ideas from. In my free time I love looking at blogs; my favorite is The Blonde Salad. I also enjoy shopping (of course) and looking at the latest designer collections. I find it amazing how designers can create these amazing collections season after season, with the outfits never looking the same!
The look I have on today pretty much sums up my style. I’m wearing black jeans with knee-high boots, which is an easy outfit to put on, yet looks super stylish! For winter, my favorite trend is fur vests. Even if they’re not that warm, they can make any outfit look dressed up. I’ve paired my outfit with my favorite vintage Chanel bag, a timeless piece. This outfit is perfect for a warm winter day, which is pretty much every day in California.
