What’s up Fashionistas/os!? I’m back for round three! I’m so excited to share some more fashionable people with you this summer.
My summer is already off to a crazy start. I just returned from London and I’m quickly turning around and traveling up north to visit some friends and family. Then I’ll be settling back into Columbia, South Carolina for the rest of the summer.
My time in London was absolutely amazing and I’m already itching to go back. Big cities like that are the best places to people watch and observe what people are wearing, and people in London certainly know how to dress (as they should, being a fashion capital and all). Everyone sports a street style-chic look, and they all look so effortlessly cool while doing so. The men dress in perfectly tailored suits. The majority of women wear tennis shoes with their outfits, but no one settles for the typical jeans and a T-shirt ensemble usually associated with such shoes. I saw one girl wearing a white lace slip dress with black Stan Smiths, and black leather back pack and oversized John Lennon sunglasses, and she looked cooler than I could ever hope to.
It’s so inspiring and exciting to be surrounded by people who share and respect a love of fashion. I got to see Alexander McQueen, Elsa Schiaparelli, Eli Saab and Christian Dior dresses (just to name a few) in person. I got to experience 100 years of British Vogue and countless museums. I got to shop at Fortum and Mason (the Queen’s Grocer), Harrods and Selfridges. I could go on for pages upon pages, all a fashion major’s dream.
For now, I’m back in South Carolina where it continues to be unnecessarily hot. I’ll most likely be in a swim suit or tank tops for the majority of the summer. The outfit I’m wearing here is one I wore in London (and even got mistaken for a local!!). Â I’m still (mostly) buying and wearing neutrals. You just can’t go wrong. My striped button-down is part of WhoWhatWear’s collection with Target. My cropped jeans are from Gap, and my shoes are a pair of Kanye West’s Yeezy Boosts. My sunglasses are from Free People and I wear them everywhere. They’re also called the Abbey Road sunglasses, which is appropriate for London, and also for my love of the Beatles.
I look forward to another rad semester with CollegeFashionista! Â Be sure to check in monthly to see what I’m up to this summer! As always, go cocks!
