Hi there, Fashionistas! My name is Mariah Ricci and I am a Style Guru intern for Slippery Rock University. I have just begun my junior year as a Public Relations major where I spend my time being a part of different organizations and keeping up with my busy class schedule. Aside from my hobbies of blogging, reading and watching Netflix (so college, I know), I am a fashion enthusiast. My dream job would have to be an editorial position at a fashion magazine, where I could put my writing skills to work.
As for my personal style, I like to describe it as a modern day Audrey with a sense of adventure and an appreciation for simplicity. I tend to go for classic pieces that can easily be incorporated into a modern look. “Simple and chic,” as I like to call it.
In this outfit above, I am wearing a checkered button-down dress from Forever 21, Ann Taylor flats and accessorized it with a yellow Coach bag. This is a perfect example of my personal style. The dress has enough personality to speak for itself and adding the perfect pop of color makes this one of my favorite go-to outfits.
Being an intern for CollegeFashionista this fall is something I am thrilled to be a part of. Fashion is truly something I love writing, talking and learning more about. My personal blog, La Vie best Belle, focuses on the relationship between life, beauty and fashion. The connection between these three things is something I have always been fascinated by, and part of the reason why I appreciate fashion so much.
I’ve always loved how fashion gives people a sense of confidence and originality in the most unique way. As a Style Guru intern, I am looking forward to writing about campus trends, killer outfits and developing my writing skills on a more sophisticated (and stylish) level.
