Hi there, Fashionista/os! My name is Marisa Ramicone and I am just starting my junior year at Kent State University where I am studying fashion merchandising and fashion media. This is my first semester with CollegeFashionista and I could not be more excited for this opportunity! I have already met so many awesome people and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for me this semester.
To be honest, I never thought that I would end up here. My plan was never to study fashion or to even write about it. I always had a plan to follow my mom’s footsteps and study business. I soon found that it was so boring and I needed a change. All I could think about was moving to a big city to pursue my dream in fashion. So now I’m here, in a small little town called Kent in the middle of Ohio where I’m studying at one of the best fashion schools in the world. It may not be a big city, but I’m still getting to do what I love and I could not be happier.
Throughout the past year, my style has changed quite a bit. I can go from grunge/rocker, to basic black and white T-shirts, to really feminine floral dresses. The most important thing for me in my clothing choice is to be comfortable. This is represented in my outfit pictured above. The basic white top and classic blue denim jeans is a total me outfit. It super comfortable and very versatile. This outfit can be worn in so many different ways, but I was going for a more casual look so I threw on a pair of my platform Birkenstocks and jazzed it up with a bohemian-like choker.
I am looking forward to being a part of the Style Guru Gang for CollegeFashionista this semester. For someone who thought that they would never be in this position, it feels amazing to be apart of this great opportunity where I can inspire others and vice versa. I cannot wait to show you all the great fashions around my small town campus.
