Hey everyone! My name is Marissa Delle Donne and I am a sophomore at Marist College. Currently, I am a communication/public relations major and am minoring in fashion merchandising. This is my first semester with CollegeFashionista and I am so excited to combine two of my favorite things: writing and fashion!
Fashion is something that people consider a hobby, but I define it as a lifestyle. Throughout my life, I have expressed myself using clothes and accessories. Whether it is a shirt, jeans, or a necklace, my personality and creativity is represented everyday when I walk out the front door, and also to clarify something, I love wearing watches. It may sound weird, but it is a necessity in my eyes.
Just to lay something down straight, I am from New Jersey, so go ahead and call me a Jersey Girl because I am one, and I am proud! I am always holding a white chocolate mocha from Starbucks, carrying a Michael Kors handbag, and wearing black. No matter what I wear everyday, there is always something in my outfit that is black. Black is an essential ready-to-wear color that is slimming and flattering (for me!)
For this look, I wanted to be casual, but also dress up a bit. I took a solid black tank top and threw it on under a lightweight blue button down shirt that I bought from Aritzia. I paired this with black ripped jeans from Express, making the look casual with a bit of an edge. I added my monogram necklace, a gray wrap around bracelet, and a silver Michael Kors watch. To finish that off, I paired the outfit with short black booties with a little heel. This is a look that I would wear everyday if I could because it is comfortable and trendy, while making a statement at the same time.
