Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Marissa Dodd and I am so excited to be starting my third semester with CollegeFashionista! Through working with CollegeFashionista I have been able to really reach out of my comfort zone, especially through my style and social media. Seeing what my fellow style gurus are doing and wearing is inspiring and such a motivator. I am in my junior year at Liberty University and studying business marketing and clothing and textiles. After a little bit of soul searching my freshman year I came to the conclusion that fashion is the right path for me.
My obsessions include Instagram, coffee, succulents and ripped jeans. I have a serious case of wanderlust, which I am hoping to settle a little bit this summer. I love adventuring whether it’s just to a local coffee shop or to the top of a mountain. In my spare time I enjoy scrolling through Pinterest and trying new DIYs or finding new fashion tips to try.
I have always had a love for fashion simply because it is the easiest way to express myself. My style tends to change on an everyday basis between bohemian chic and grunge but that’s the beauty of fashion; you can base your outfit off of your mood. If you’re anything like me, your mood is always changing. My color palette tends to be pretty minimal, incorporating lots of neutrals. Although in the summer I like to switch it up with a mix of floral patterns, like in the outfit I am wearing here. I kept it to the basics with my black T-shirt dress but added a summery vibe with the lightweight floral kimono. I am so obsessed with the gladiator shoe trend; I think it can give just the right touch to a simple outfit.
So with that said, I hope you are ready for a #RAD semester full of style and that I am able to inspire you throughout my posts. I hope that you will follow along with my articles as well as my life on social media. Here’s to a great summer!
