Spoiler alert: as you can tell by this new and improved Style Guru Bio, I’m continuing my internship with CollegeFashionista for this fall! This internship has been wonderful because it has given me a little structure to work with my creativity. I’m happy I’ll still be writing words and you’ll still be reading them, hopefully.
Life is a hectic, healthy pace for me. Between school, work, acting and CollegeFashionista I have my plate full in the best of ways. Most of my days are spent in Chicago going to class or set, so I have my fair share of seeing inspiring street style.
This summer I’ve realized that I wore denim nearly everyday in many different ways. Between shortalls, dresses, jeans and more I did it all. This has led me to the decision to simply indulge in a fashion phase of mine if I’m enjoying it. Maybe someday we’ll all look back and have fashion regrets. The worst type of regret would be if we didn’t wear something that felt right at the time.
As you can see by my photos, I kept it pretty classic. We all know Karl Lagerfeld said, “One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a little black dress.” It’s true because if I took off my jean shirt, I could walk into a more sophisticated event, like a wedding. The best part is it’s from Forever 21, so you know that means it didn’t break the bank.
