Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Matisen and it’s nice to meet you. I come from a family of writers and professors, and it wasn’t until my crazy fashion sense reared its head in elementary school that my family knew they were in for it. At the impressionable young age of seven, I wrote my first story to the year that The Devil Wears Prada was released on DVD. Suddenly, something inside me was waking up and I was becoming a mid-size city girl with big city dreams.
I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A fun fact about myself is that I did ballet all the way through high school. Now, I am transferring to the University of Michigan this upcoming fall to study communications and English literature. It has become my absolute ambition to combine my love of words with my love of personal style. Now, I can do just that!
These days, my style is a bit more evolved than my bright red vest and pastel floral leggings that I used to dress myself in during elementary school. Currently, I tend to go for more casual options in versatile colors. My current favorites include denim, especially the mom jeans, solid-colored tops that are fitted and a few boho rings or layered necklaces. However, I never have a problem with dressing up, because with my naturally short stature, situations warranting heels are always a welcome treat. Dressed up or dressed down, I prefer to stay classic with a feminine twist that keeps me on-trend and comfortable.
I am so ready to start this journey here at CollegeFashionista, so here’s to a stylish summer!
