Hello all of you wonderful Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is McKenna Kasper and I’m currently entering my senior year at The Ohio State University. I’m studying strategic communications with Spanish and French minors, with the hope of managing and planning social media accounts within the fashion industry.
I’m very excited to be writing my second STYLE GURU BIO for CollegeFashionista! I couldn’t be happier that it’s finally summer break, because that means tan lines and no homework. However, I’m also looking forward to updating you on the happenings in fashion here in Cleveland for the summer.
I’ve always loved clothes and I have an eye for what looks good on others. So naturally being a Style Guru seems quite perfect for me. I love shopping online and reading fashion magazines to come up with new and innovative ways to rework my closet. I lean towards comfortable and easy-to-wear looks that are classic but also sometimes edgy. I adore preppier pieces and layering but I’m becoming more open to the bohemian vibe (thanks to my younger sister). I own such a wide variety of clothes to avoid looking the same or too predictable. Switching it up is what keeps my style interesting.
What I’m currently wearing is a slightly ’70s look. Now that it has finally started to warm up, I chose to wear my simple cuffed American Eagle Outfitters shorts. To add volume to these tighter shorts I chose a loose button-down top in white, to break up the pieces. My fringed cross-body bag and semi-floppy hat add the right amount of ’70s flare, without looking costume-y. I was really excited to show off my new lace-up suede espadrilles, which were the perfect summery addition to my look. They are comfortable and on trend with the lace-up and suede details. I also added my grandmother’s vintage ’90s Versace sunglasses and layered some jewelry to finish the look.
I can’t wait to capture the different styles around my hometown, as well as share some of my own fashion with you guys! I will also be updating my own blog, A Taste of Gold, with more images and longer posts to accompany my Style Guru posts.
I hope you all have a #RAD summer!
