Welcome to my first semester with CollegeFashionista! I am currently in the second semester of my junior year at Ball State University, studying photojournalism and magazine with a minor in fashion. My dream career is to work as a street style photographer for a major magazine, so being a Style Guru couldn’t be a more perfect fit!
I like to think of myself as having a minimalist style. My closet only consists of neutral colors and simple shapes and silhouettes. I really love combining laid back, menswear inspired styles with upscale glamour. For example, one of my favorite outfits would consist of simple pieces like ripped jeans, sneakers and a striped T-shirt paired with a high-end piece such as a structured leather jacket.
My outfit, pictured above, is one of my favorites because each piece is not only classic, but can also be used to create a relaxed look, as well as a dressy one. The hat and the shoes I found at the Holy Grail that is H&M. The turtleneck is a Goodwill find. My palazzo pants were found at Francesca’s for a ridiculously low price.
Some of my biggest fashion inspirations are Kendall Jenner, Alexa Chung, Diane Kruger, Solange Knowles and a large handful of fashion bloggers. As for fashion designers, I really look up to Calvin Klein and Chanel for their classic, timeless presence in the whirlwind that is fashion. I constantly find myself on social media, whether it be Instagram or Pinterest, studying up on whatever is going on in today’s world with fashion. It’s so addicting!
I love traveling and I love being inspired by everyday life, which is why I believe I love fashion and photography so much. It’s all so ever-changing, just like the daily world we live in. And with that, I am so excited to share with you guys what I consider my definition of fashion to be. Thanks!
