Hi everyone! My name is Meaghanne O’Connell and I am so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista this semester. I am currently a junior at Duquesne University in beautiful Pittsburgh studying integrated marketing communications and business.
Since I was a little girl, I have always been interested fashion of all kinds, and always tried to expose myself to as much of it as I could. For example, I binge watched every season of Project Runway. Living on a college campus, I see students with so many different styles and can appreciate everyone’s individuality. Therefore, I wouldn’t necessarily say that I have a certain look or style. I love to dress up sometimes, but then again, I still wear my beat up pair of black Converse almost everyday. Most days I keep it simple by wearing ripped jeans, sneakers or boots and neutral colors. Being a busy student on a budget, I find it easy to get staple pieces that you can wear through all the seasons and pair them with different shoes and jeans. It’s effortless, but still looks like you put time and effort into it.
While I choose to keep it simple, I admire street style and catch myself Instagram stalking fashion designers, stylists and gurus far too much. I love traveling to different places and seeing what everyone is wearing, and finding little ways to incorporate their style into my wardrobe. This fall, I hope that my style will continue to evolve throughout the semester as I write for CollegeFashionista.
