G’day, mate, I’m Meesha, reporting to you from Sydney, Australia. It’s crazy to think that I am starting my third semester as a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista. I’m currently on student exchange studying Media and Communication at the University of Sydney from the George Washington University in D.C. I’m pumped to give you all a peek into Sydney’s unique and creative fashions
I’ve noticed that Sydney street style is very similar to that of Southern California, where I am originally from, both of which have completely differently fashions than D.C.’s. Both have a cool, creative feel in which experimenting with different styles is not only the usual, but also welcomed.
As for me, I have still kept my core laid back and bohemian style. My wardrobe pretty only consists of neutral colors, earth tones and subtle prints. Fun fact: I have six black coats currently hanging in my closet. My rule each time I get dressed is to be cute and put together, but most importantly, comfortable and confident in whatever I wear. Always be true to yourself, including self-expression through your fashion.
Currently, I am all about wearing oversized cardigans or statement coats over tighter, cropped tops that show just a hint of stomach. During the colder days, I live in my dark wash, flared jeans and black skinny jeans. Other times, I wear patterned, flared pants or knit shorts. As for accessories, I always keep the same theme of layering a variety of necklaces. I alternate between crystal necklaces, long prayer beads, chokers and dainty gold necklaces. The Vans in this picture are my latest purchase; I am in love with the creative, paisley design. Also, they add a bit a color and boldness to my otherwise calm outfit.
I hope you stick around, because I can’t wait to share a little piece of my experience of abroad with you. Cheers!
